MODESTO, Calif. (November 11, 2021) – The Save Mart Companies today announced that its in-store fundraising campaign to support American Red Cross relief efforts during the western wildfires, including in California, raised $63,000 from their generous customers. The donation helps the Red Cross continue to provide services for residents who have been impacted by the wildfires. A check presentation was made to the Red Cross by The Save Mart Companies leadership team today.

The Red Cross helps provide safe shelter for residents who have been impacted by the western wildfires as well as meals, health services, comfort, and other support. Red Cross volunteers work with disaster response partners to coordinate ongoing relief efforts and develop longer-term recovery plans.

The Save Mart Companies has a history of providing for residents in the communities they serve as in 2020, the company donated in excess of 235,000 pounds of healthy, shelf-stable items, which resulted in providing more than 196,000 meals. Additionally, through the companies’ “Fresh Rescue” program, another 5.3 million pounds of produce and other perishable food items were donated to local food banks in a companywide effort to mitigate the impact of food insecurity.
