Annual award recognizes the integral role women play across all segments of the industry
MODESTO, Calif. – June 20, 2023 – The Save Mart Companies (TSMC) is celebrating its associates who have been recognized as Progressive Grocer’s 2023 Top Women in Grocery Awardees. This prestigious annual award recognizes the integral role women play across all segments throughout the grocery industry. Based at the company’s headquarters in Modesto, TSMC 2023 honorees are residents of the Central Valley.
“These honorees have forged successful career paths at The Save Mart Companies, making significant contributions with their remarkable talents and skills and demonstrating outstanding leadership qualities,” said Shane Sampson, executive chairman of the board for The Save Mart Companies. “We are immensely proud of these three exceptional women who are an essential part of our company’s ongoing success.”
Progressive Grocer recognized the following women as Rising Star Awardees with The Save Mart Companies:
Rosalind Campbell serves as Senior Manager, In-Store Environment and leads all décor strategy and execution for TSMC and its three distinct store banners – Save Mart, Lucky California, and FoodMaxx. She directs the partner agencies for environmental décor packages that best bring to life brand work for all banner stores as well as leads continued innovation to the in-store environment and experience, from initial ideation to implementation. Campbell resides in Modesto, Calif.
Kelsey Carter serves as Transportation Director and manages TSMC transportation departments in Merced, Lathrop, and Roseville to deliver products effectively and efficiently to its stores in California and Western Nevada daily. Carter successfully developed and implemented the JJ Keller Driver Training Program at Merced and Lathrop locations. In addition, she oversees the recruitment, development, and retention of associates as well as develops staffing strategy and succession planning. Carter resides in Oakdale, Calif.
A longtime resident of Manteca, Calif., Cori Nobriga is recognized as the “service deli expert” at TSMC. As Senior Category Manager, Service Deli, Nobriga leads training sessions and aids in developing programs and manuals throughout many cross functional departments. Having spent 31 years in operations, Nobriga successfully transitioned to merchandising where her experience in the field has proven to be critical in the development and execution of existing and new programs.
This is the 17th year for the food retailing industry’s longest running program recognizing and celebrating the accomplishment and contributions of thousands of women at all levels in the industry. All awardees were nominated for their above-and-beyond achievements between April 2022 and March 2023.
Progressive Grocer presented the 2023 Top Women in Grocery in its June issue, devoted to showcasing overall excellence and continued achievement among female movers and shakers in the North American retail food industry.
