Lucky Supermarkets, the Official Grocer of the Warriors, teamed up with players and other Warrior personalities to help Bay Area families make healthy meals on a budget. The Shop and Learn event, held at the Alameda Lucky store Friday evening (November 10), consisted of an educational tour down the aisles with lessons on how to read labels and dicipher ingredients. The tour guides are from 18 Reasons, another partner of Lucky Supermerkets, which promotes healthy eating and cooking.
The five participating families were each assigned a Warriors player or personality, including Klay Thompson and Zaza Pachulia. Assistant Coach Bruce Frazier, Ambassador Adonal Foyle and Broadcast Analyst Kelenna Azubuike were also part of the event.
At the end, families were challenged to buy ingredients for a healthy dinner for under $20. They all came in under budget, and for their reward, each received a $200 gift card to Lucky, which wil help them buy more healthy meals. A great step in encouraging a healthy eating, even on a budget!
