Save Mart had a BLAST at the annual Running of the Elk half marathon!
Every year kids and adults take the streets of Elk Grove to race against the clock. The event featured a half marathon, 10K, 5K and a rids run. All proceeds benefit the Elk Grove Youth Sports Foundation, a nonprofit organization that aims to ensure all Elk Grove children have the opportunity to be involved in sports.
As an effort to give back to the community, Save Mart donated gallons of water, milk and chocolate milk to the event and even hosted a booth with FREE fruit and granola for the runners to enjoy.
The Save Mart team celebrated the memory of the late store #605 Store Manager, Anita Chapa, who’s favorite event was the Running of the Elk. Big Red, the Save Mart team and Anita’s family kicked off the run by firing the start gun.
