James “Super Duck” Savage, the 9-year-old boy who broke the World Record June 14 for being the youngest person to swim from San Francisco to Alcatraz and back, is a familiar face at the Los Banos Save Mart. James and his family are regulars who shop there at least 5 days a week.
James swam from the San Francisco shoreline to the former prison a total distance of over two miles. He did in just over two hours.
James at just 4-foot-6 and 57 pounds was able to set a record as the youngest swimmer ever to make the journey.
By completing the grueling open water challenge, the fourth-grader, has broken a record previously held by a 10-year-old boy who completed the trek last year. News Link
