This past weekend, Lucky California celebrated the 2019 Lunar New Year at the annual San Francisco Chinese New Year Festival and Parade! Lucky California drove down the parade with a jaw-dropping float decorated to highlight the colorful Chinese culture and delicious cuisine.
This year celebrates the Year of the Pig, which is the 12th of a 12-year cycle of animals that appear in the Chinese zodiac. Pigs are a symbol of wealth- their chubby faces and big ears are signs of fortune as well! Though not wasteful spenders, people born under this sign love to enjoy life. They love entertainment and will occasionally treat themselves. If given the chance, they will take positions of power status. People born in 2019, 2007, 1995, 1983, 1971, 1959, 1947, 1935 fall under the Year of the PIG!
Named one of the world’s top ten parades, the Chinese New Year Festival & Parade in San Francisco aims to educate, enrich and entertain the audience with the colorful pageantry of Chinese culture and tradition. Today, the San Francisco Chinese New Year Festival and Parade is the largest celebration of its kind in the world, attracting over three million spectators and television viewers throughout the U.S., Canada, and Asia.
Happy Chinese New Year!
