Fresno FoodMaxx, located on E. Kings Canyon Road, adopted Temperance-Kutner Elementary for the 2019-2020 school year. To celebrate this partnership, the store hosted a supermarket sweep to provide healthy snacks for their after school programs.
Principal Kahty Blackburn raced down the aisles, and grabbed as many healthy snacks as she could in three minutes. When the time was up, Principal Blackburn was able to get $600 worth of snacks for T-K Elementary’s after school program! Snacks included granola bars, fruit snacks, crackers, juice boxes, and cookies.
Annually, each FoodMaxx store selects a neighboring elementary school through the company’s Adopt-a-School program. Throughout the year, the store supports the school with food, books and other resources, bringing their commitment to ‘Nourishing Communities’ in full circle.
