FoodMaxx, Save Mart and Lucky stores throughout California and Northern Nevada celebrated National Reading Day by reading to classes at their adopted schools!
Stores celebrated this annual tradition which allows store managers and employees to connect with their adopted schools.
This year, in addition to reading stories about grocery stores and food, store managers and employees also read tales that instilled the lessons of kindness and generosity. By all reports, the students enjoyed the reading activities!
The added bonus? The books were then donated to the school so that other children can enjoy throughout the year!
The Save Mart Companies’ Adopt-a-School Program allows stores to adopt one school every year which entitles them to year-round support and perks like teacher treats and even book donations on National Reading Day!
