FoodMaxx’s 55 stores in California and Northern Nevada used National Reading Day, January 23, to read to a class at their local schools. National Reading Day is time the country sets aside to encourage reading to young students to help them develop the literacy foundation needed to become life-long learners. What a great way to contribute to the local community!
This year, Store Managers and their employees read three books:
All books were about trips to the grocery store, including one that was bilingual. After reading the books to students, they were donated to the school library.
