As part of their Adopt-A-School program, FoodMaxx Store Managers celebrated National Reading Day by reading to a few classes at their Adopted School. It’s a great annual banner tradition that allows employees to connect with the local community.
This year, in addition to reading stories about grocery stores and food, Store Managers also read tales that instilled the lessons of kindness and generosity.
- How Did That Get Into My Lunch Box? by Chris Butterworth
- The Spiffiest Giant in Town by Julia Donaldson
- Kindness Counts by Bryan Smith
By all reports, the students enjoyed the activity. The added bonus? The books were then donated to the school so that other children can enjoy throughout the year.
