Save Mart steps up to donate 10 tons of compost to the Community Life Garden in Reedley. A professional gardener is trying to help promote healthy eating, gardening and outdoor activity. She needed compost to make get started on 1-1/2 acres of land.
Save Mart was one of the early adopters of composting, starting 1997. When produce is too old or damaged to sell or donate, the food scraps are turned into compost. In 2015, the company composted 21,000 tons! It’s part of the sustainability practices that Save Mart incorporates into everyday business operations. After all, we want to do our part to help our planet.
