Turlock Save Mart stores, located on 1631 Lander Ave and 2595 Geer Rd, presented a C.A.R.E.S. Foundation grant of $5,000 to the United Samaritans Foundation.
Store managers, Evo Silva and Toney Dewinkle, were thrilled to meet the wonderful people at the Foundation and present the organization their check.
United Samaritans Foundation’s mission is to deliver food to people in need in Stanislaus County and to facilitate the provision of services to assist them in a transition to a better quality of life. The Foundation has received similar C.A.R.E.S. grants in the past and this year’s grant will go towards supporting their signature Daily Bread Mobile Lunch Program. This program serves nutritious lunch five days a week to very low income and homeless individuals and families in Stanislaus County. Funds will be used to help purchase food and fuel for their four mobile lunch trucks.
CARES stands for Community, Arts, Recreation, Education and Sports and focuses on improving lives under these categories. The Save Mart Companies C.A.R.E.S. Foundation donated more than $300,000 last year to nearly three dozen organizations in California and Northern Nevada. For more information, please visit www.SaveMart.com, under the Community tab.
