First West Coast grocer to carry Caroline’s Carts chain-wide
Modesto, CA– Pushing a traditional grocery cart and a wheelchair at the same time through a store is challenging for many families. But thanks to a suggestion made by a Central Valley mom, Carolina Alfaro, Save Mart Supermarkets has now made a Caroline’s Cart available in all 211 Save Mart, Lucky and Food Maxx stores throughout the greater Bay Area, northern/central California and northern Nevada.
“Most people don’t realize what a task it is for a special needs parent to maneuver a wheelchair in a store as they stuff groceries onto their child’s lap or in a small wheelchair basket,” said Alfaro, a regular shopper at our Turlock store. “I’m ecstatic this cart will bring equal opportunity to special needs families in every community Save Mart serves.”
Caroline’s Cart is a shopping cart for special needs children created by an Alabama mother who named her invention after her daughter. When one of Save Mart’s customers needed one, the company immediately responded and ordered some. But it quickly became clear that each of our stores should have one. Save Mart is the first West Coast grocer to carry a Caroline’s Cart chain-wide.
