Starlight Children’s Foundation, Save Mart donate Fun Centers to
Children’s Hospital Central California
Fun Centers Ease a Child’s Fear of Treatments and Hospital Stay
Modesto, Calif., January 31, 2012 –Save Mart/FoodMaxx Supermarkets and the Starlight Foundation presented Children’s Hospital Central California with four mobile fun centers. In total 10 Fun Centers were donated to three additional Northern California Hospitals. Mercy Medical Center, Fremont-Rideout Health Group, and Kaiser Permanente received two Fun Centers each.
The mobile Fun Centers each include a combined Nintendo Wii, DVD player and Sharp AQUOS (LCD) liquid crystal display television. The Fun Centers can be used throughout the inpatient units in the hospital, either at the bedside or in the playroom.
The devices each are valued at approximately $4,500, and are made possible through the generosity of Save Mart/FoodMaxx Supermarkets, Nestlé and California Pizza Kitchen. The gifts were made possible through the efforts of the Starlight Children’s Foundation, which provides an array of programs for sick and injured children to ease the isolation and loneliness of hospitalization.
