San Francisco Mayor London Breed Among Community Dignitaries in Attendance at Store Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
SAN FRANCISCO –October 26, 2022 –The eagerly anticipated, innovative new Lucky Bayview grocery store has opened in San Francisco’s Bayview community. This Bayview grocery store offers residents and businesses convenient access to fresh, quality groceries and meal solutions, all at Lucky’s low prices.
Creatively repurposing a vacated retail location, Lucky Bayview delivers a full-service grocery shopping experience in an innovative small-store design along Bayview’s bustling Third Street corridor in Bayview Plaza at 3801 Third Street.
San Francisco Mayor London Breed was among community dignitaries in attendance at the Grand Opening ribbon-cutting celebration held earlier today.
“The opening of Lucky Bayview is a major step in improving food access and food security in what has historically been a food desert,” said Mayor London Breed. “I am even more excited that Lucky, a local supermarket retailer and part of The Save Mart Companies, sees the promise of this community and its people, and is going above and beyond to invest in San Francisco brands by putting products of local vendors on its shelves.”
Lucky stores have been serving the San Francisco community since the 1950s with locations at 1515 Sloat Blvd. and 1750 Fulton Street. Lucky Bayview is the third location in San Francisco. There are currently 67 Lucky stores in the greater Bay Area and surrounding communities.
“Providing communities with fresh, quality groceries at an exceptional value is at the heart of what we do, and we are excited to open our new Lucky store to serve the Bayview neighborhood,” said Reggie Chand, Lucky Bayview store manager. “‘Bayview’ is incorporated into this store’s name to affirm Lucky’s commitment to the community. We are proud to offer a full-service shopping experience at the low prices San Franciscans have come to expect from Lucky.”
“Equitable access to opportunities and healthy foods is critical for the City’s ongoing economic recovery. The restoration of this once vacant space into a community grocery store that features products from our local entrepreneurs and small businesses is an example of stewardship in support of the community vision,” said Kate Sofis, Executive Director, Office of Economic and Workforce Development. “We are thrilled to see this vision come to life for residents and families in the Bayview.”
Lucky Bayview’s offerings include organic fruits, vegetables, and seasonal products from Earl’s Organic Produce, San Francisco’s premium A to Z distributor of organic fruits and vegetables. Lucky Bayview is also offering a variety of unique products from Bayview vendors including Tallio’s Coffee & Tea, Bayview Pasta, Speakeasy Brewing, and Yvonne’s Southern Sweets with others to be announced soon.
Lucky Bayview shoppers are invited to join Lucky’s “Lucky You Rewards” program that offers extra value, cash back, and savings perks. Shoppers can sign up for the rewards program online, in-store or through the Lucky mobile app available to download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

The store’s Instagram page also provides shoppers with the latest news about special store promotions and updates on community partnerships.
Lucky Bayview is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and, as with all Lucky stores in San Francisco, Lucky Bayview offers online shopping and home delivery by Instacart, providing online shoppers fresh, quality groceries for residents and businesses in the Bayview community and throughout San Francisco- all at the same prices as in-store and reinforcing Lucky’s low price leader commitment.
