Nathan’s Famous is continuing its mission to surprise unsuspecting fans and perform random acts of kindness across the nation throughout 2016 as the brand celebrates its 100th anniversary. On Sunday at Sonoma Raceway, Sonoma, Calif. native Sheana Davis was recognized as one of Nathan’s Famous Ultimate Fans.
Davis recently posted on the Nathan’s Famous Facebook page about her love of auto-racing combined with her affinity for Nathan’s Famous hot dogs. A chef and cheese maker by trade, Davis shared the menu details for her tailgate at the raceway, highlighted by bacon-wrapped Nathan’s Famous hot dogs topped with homemade pickles, some of her finest cheeses and served on a toasted bun.
Davis did not know that the simple act of posting about her love of racing and Nathan’s Famous would lead the legendary hot dog company to show her just how much her loyalty is appreciated. Nathan’s Famous invited Davis and her guests to enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the racetrack and meet legendary race car driver, Richard Petty.
Representatives from Richard Petty Motorsports greeted Davis and escorted her and her guests to the garage area to meet the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race winner. Petty took photos with and signed autographs for the group. The surprises began when Petty presented Davis with a $1,000 Save Mart gift card, Nathan’s Famous apparel and finally, free Nathan’s Famous hot dogs for one year. Davis is regular shopper at Lucky Supermarkets, where she can use her gift card. The Save Mart Companies is the parent company of Lucky Supermarkets.
Sheana is a huge racing fan and, as a chef, understands the importance of a perfect blend of spices like the ones we use in the secret recipe of a Nathan’s Famous hot dog, said Wayne Norbitz, executive board member and 26-year president of Nathan’s Famous. We’re so thankful to be celebrating our 100th anniversary with fans like Sheana and, thanks to our friends at Save Mart, she now has plenty of opportunities to create the perfect recipe for any tailgate!
