Troops sent a heartfelt thanks to Save Mart and its shoppers for the the food packages filled with snacks. From late October to early November, Save Mart stores in the Modesto-region teamed up with Power Talk AM 1360 Radio to hold food drives at our stores in Tracy, Ripon, Manteca, Patterson, Stockton and Riverbank in the two weeks leading up to Veterans Day.
Operation Creekside and Veterans First then packaged the goods and shipped them overseas.
Being so far away from home for extended periods of time, our military men and women appreciate small things that remind them of home. Pop tarts, granola bars, nuts, gum and jerky are the most requested items.
The big card you see in the picture above was at every food drive site so that shoppers could sign it and wish our heroes and heroines well.
