Save Mart is encouraging the Central Valley/Monterey/Salinas communities to join in their efforts to fight hunger. Partnering with local food banks and Kraft’s Huddle to Fight Hunger campaign, all our stores are selling “Serving up Hope” icons for $1.00 each at the register, making it easy and convenient for our customers to donate and help those in need. For any donation of $1.00 or more, customers will be offered a holiday recipe book that includes
delicious holiday recipes and $5.00 worth of manufacturer coupons for products carried in our stores, while supplies last. There will also be donation barrels in our stores for those who prefer to donate purchased food.
“Hunger is a very serious issue in our country that often goes overlooked,” said Steve Junqueiro, President and COO, Save Mart Supermarkets. “Sadly, more than 50 million Americans, or one in six of our neighbors, struggle to put food on their tables. That’s why we’ve joined Kraft Foods in their ambitious effort and are encouraging our loyal shoppers to join the Huddle and help us tackle this problem.”
